Exercise -- it seems to be the
panacea for all human ills. Jonathan Lee exercises.
An article in this month's American Journal of Medicine says
exercise may help you avoid them.
"I'm not surprised ... it makes sense that if making your body
stronger that would help your immune system as well," Jonathan
Lee added.
"It keeps my heart health, it gets rid of fat ... it reduces
stress," Jonathan said.
Dr. Deepti Thomas-Paulose, Columbia University Medical Center:
"Exercise can boot your immune system and stronger immune
system can fight off colds."
And exercise seems to reduce your chances of catching a cold,
says the study.
It compared woman who did daily moderate exercise to those who
only stretched daily. The result: Non-exercisers caught twice
the number of colds compared to those who worked out.
You don't need a gym -- fast walking is considered moderate
exercise.
